Endodontics treats diseases of the dental pulp and periapical tissues (commonly known as the “tooth nerve” and the tissues around the roots). Root canal therapy allows us to preserve teeth affected by pulpitis and periodontitis (granulomas), as well as teeth with fractures, perforations, resorptions, and atrophic, dystrophic or traumatic complications.

Typical success rates are around ~83% for primary treatment and ~78% for retreatment. In the hands of an experienced clinician using specialized equipment and protocols under magnification, outcomes can reach ~93-96% in appropriately selected cases.
